Angel Draper, L.Ac.As a doctor of acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine, I combine eastern therapies with modern science to create an integrative and holistic approach for my patients. My mission is to provide the highest caliber of real, hands-on care to my patients using a variety of approaches customized to their specific needs. I practice general medicine and am able to manage an array of complaints from sinus and digestive problems to stress, anxiety and depression. I specialize in pain management, sports medicine, women’s health and fertility.

After experiencing incredible relief from both neck and low back injuries using acupuncture, I earned both a Masters of Science and Doctorate of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (DACM) from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, a five-year, comprehensive program in acupuncture, herbs and the fundamentals of Chinese as well as Western medicine. I completed a two-year clinical internship at Pacific College in general medicine, and another two-year internship at Acusport, a leading health center in orthopedic rehabilitation.  During this time, I pursued a long standing a passion for women’s health care and fertility for which I continued to further my studies. I am a licensed acupuncturist and primary care physician in CA and have been certified nationally as well.

I earned a BA in physical anthropology at the University of California, Santa Cruz. My regard for humanity and our planet has inspired me to inquire and travel extensively. It has brought me into contact with numerous traditional medical systems as well as the great diversity that is global health care today. I believe that for most, the largest part of wellness can be achieved and maintained through lifestyle. I lived and studied for a year in Ghana, West Africa while completing my undergraduate degree. I later studied massage in Thailand and the Acupressure Institute in Berkeley, CA and went on to build a thriving massage practice in San Juan Capistrano, CA, specializing in acupressure, deep tissue, shiatsu, tui na, and sports massage. During this time I worked with Lisa Sherwood, CNM with Beach Cities Midwifery performing pregnancy massage and acupressure during labor and childbirth. I have worked with multiple professional athletes, from the NFL to the US Olympic team.

I continue to pursue a love of travel and culture with my partner Eric, which I combine as frequently as possible with backpacking, rock climbing, surfing, yoga and a general spirit for the outdoors. We have recently acquired a small home orchard and I am learning to be a farmer. I enjoy immensely and couldn’t possibly do without my wonderful community of family and friends, for which I give constant thanks.
